Aesthetician

Summary
The Aesthetician plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and aesthetic outcomes by administering medical-grade skincare treatments including facials, chemical peels, HydraFacial, microdermabrasion, and other state-permitted services. This role requires deep expertise in skin health, a commitment to client education, and a proactive approach to nurturing ongoing patient relationships.
A successful Aesthetician in our practice is not only a skilled provider but also an active participant in client retention strategies, follow-up communication, and personalized treatment planning. This individual serves as a trusted guide in the patient journey—ensuring each person feels cared for, educated, and supported throughout their experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Treatment & Clinical Excellence
- Perform consistent, professional skin care treatments in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Stay current with industry advancements and be willing to train in practice-specific techniques and services.
- Demonstrate knowledge of various skin types, acne management, and pre-/post-treatment care protocols.
- Ensure all equipment is sanitized and maintained in accordance with state regulations and internal policies.
Patient Experience, Nurturing & Retention
- Establish strong rapport with patients through empathetic communication and active listening.
- Follow up with patients after initial and ongoing treatments to assess satisfaction, progress, and recommend future services.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, product usage, and long-term skincare strategies tailored to their goals.
- Support client retention efforts through personalized outreach, birthday and milestone check-ins, and rebooking strategies.
- Encourage and facilitate patient enrollment in memberships, promotions, and loyalty programs.
Sales & Product Knowledge
- Maintain expert knowledge of all in-practice products and services; confidently recommend solutions that align with patient needs.
- Meet or exceed monthly service and retail sales goals (minimum target: 20% of total revenue).
- Accurately document treatment details and product recommendations in the EMR system.
Operational & Team Contribution
- Arrive on time and prepared for scheduled shifts; manage appointments within allotted time.
- Restock, clean, and prepare treatment rooms to ensure a consistent and premium patient experience.
- Collaborate with clinical and front office staff to coordinate care and assist with patient preparation.
- Contribute positively to a team-oriented, high-performance culture; attend team meetings, trainings, and CEs.
- Stay informed of and compliant with all practice policies, protocols, and industry regulations.
Qualifications
Licensure & Experience
- Current and active state licensure as an Aesthetician or equivalent, in good standing.
- 3–5 years of experience in a medical aesthetics, dermatology, or plastic surgery setting required.

Continuing Education and Development
- Required attendance at all in-house training sessions and team development meetings
- Participate in at least 2 external continuing education courses per year and share insights with the team
